We are just beginning to understand what it means to have this disorder that can include life-threatening medical problems and can affect every sensory system. Among foundations, the CHARGE Syndrome Foundation is very small. It allocates nearly all of its resources to providing information to support families and professionals affected by this disorder. Children and especially adults with CHARGE need every bit of help that they can get because there are very few professionals, agencies, or organizations that (1)understand the complex problems associated with multiple congenital anomalies or (2)have the means to provide appropriate assistance. I am biased, but I contribute whatever I can to the Foundation because I know how well the money is spent and I know how many people have been helped. I will contribute to this fundraising effort.
